Courses Offered at IIM Tiruchirappalli

The PGPM-HR programme is also a two-year, full-time residential MBA, and is dedicated to human resource management. It has the same fee and the same admission route as PGPM, but its curriculum emphasises talent management, organisational development, labour relations, people analytics and strategic HR, and it is meant for candidates who already know they want a career in HR. The programme has an intake of about 50 students against about 412 in PGPM, so classes are small and mentoring is close.

The PGPBM is aimed at working executives with at least three years of full-time experience. It runs for about 21 months with roughly 870 classroom contact hours, held on Saturdays and Sundays at the Chennai Campus, and it leads to an MBA degree awarded at the same convocation as the full-time programmes. Candidates enter on the basis of the IIMT aptitude test or a valid CAT, GMAT or GRE score, followed by a personal interview. There is no formal placement assistance because the programme is designed for people who are already employed.

Doctoral options include the full-time residential Doctoral Programme in Management, which is fellowship-based, and the Executive Doctoral Programme, which allows senior professionals to pursue research without leaving their jobs. Eligibility for the full-time programmes is a bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent marks, or 45 percent for SC, ST and differently abled candidates, together with a valid CAT score for PGPM and PGPM-HR. Candidates should verify the current intake and fee notice in each admission cycle, as both are reviewed by the Institute every year.
