Admissions to UVCE are conducted through Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) based on KCET ranks. Candidates who qualify KCET and get seats through KEA counselling can secure admission. For B.Arch, NATA scores are required. Being a government college, there are no management quota seats.

UVCE being a government college has very affordable fees. The annual fee is approximately INR 22,000-48,500 depending on the branch. Total fee for 4-year B.E. ranges from INR 1.35-1.94 lakhs for general category and INR 78,000-1 lakh for SC/ST students who get additional fee concessions.

Yes, UVCE provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls at both K R Circle and Jnana Bharathi campuses. Hostel fee is very affordable at approximately INR 90/day for mess charges with no residential fees. For SC/ST students, hostel is completely free.
