Shri Ayurved Mahavidyalaya holds all required statutory approvals NCISM recognition, Ministry of AYUSH approval, Government of Maharashtra recognition, and MUHS Nashik affiliation maintained consistently since the institution came under the current regulatory framework. Its historical distinctions are several: one of the earliest Ayurvedic colleges in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region (est. 1953); Government Grant-in-Aid status from 1972; PG programme in 13 subjects from 1985; PhD in 11 subjects under MUHS; a teaching hospital founded in 1949 and inaugurated by India's first Prime Minister; and a Central Research Laboratory whose monographs appear in the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India.
