Admission Eligibility & Cutoffs at NSUT

Broadly, NSUT's more established and compute-focused branches -- Computer Science & Engineering, its AI and Data Science variants, and Electronics & Communication Engineering -- tend to close at tighter (lower) JEE Main ranks than newer or more niche specialisations such as Geoinformatics or Mechanical Engineering with Electric Vehicles, reflecting the general pattern seen across most JAC Delhi and JoSAA-participating institutions where computer-science-adjacent branches see disproportionately higher applicant demand relative to their seat count. Category-wise reservation (27% OBC-NCL, 15% SC, 7.5% ST, 10% EWS) and the 85%/15% Delhi-region/outside-Delhi seat split both affect the specific cutoff rank a given candidate needs to clear, so two candidates in different categories or regions can see quite different closing ranks for the exact same branch.

Because JAC Delhi's cutoff ranks shift from one admission cycle to the next based on that year's applicant pool and seat matrix, and because NSUT itself does not publish a fixed, standalone cutoff independent of the JAC Delhi process, applicants are best served checking the current year's official JAC Delhi seat matrix and round-wise cutoff data directly at the time of counselling, and can confirm NSUT-specific eligibility criteria for their intended branch through the official NSUT website rather than relying on a previous year's closing ranks as a fixed benchmark.

Because NSUT runs three physically separate campuses with different specialisations tied to each, applicants should also be aware that a branch's home campus (Main Campus Dwarka, East Campus Geeta Colony, or West Campus Jaffarpur) is itself effectively part of what determines its relative demand and, indirectly, its cutoff -- branches based at the Main Campus, with its larger shared infrastructure and longer track record, have historically tended to see stronger applicant interest than comparable newer branches at the East or West campuses, though this pattern can shift over time as those campuses and specialisations mature.
