Placements and Career Outlook at IMS DAVV, Indore

Placement Snapshot
ParticularsReported Figure (2025 batch)
Highest packageRs. 18.5 LPA
Average packageRs. 6.16 LPA
Median packageRs. 5.3 LPA
Lowest packageRs. 4 LPA

Companies reported in recent seasons include Deloitte, the Aditya Birla Group, ITC, Nestle, Godrej, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank. Sales, marketing and banking roles take the largest share of the batch, followed by analytics, human resources and operations roles. Students with finance and analytics skills are hired by consulting and financial services firms, while those who choose marketing often join FMCG and consumer brands as management trainees.

An important point for applicants is the share of the batch that gets placed. In a public university department, many students come for the degree and a number of them prepare for government exams, take up family business or go for higher studies, so the placement percentage is not the same as that of a private business school. Earlier reports show that in the 2020-21 batch, about 380 of 875 postgraduate students of the wider placement system were placed, with a median package of about Rs. 5.2 LPA. Students should ask the cell for the latest percentage for the MBA batch.

Career paths after the MBA are broad. Graduates can join corporate management trainee programmes, banks, insurance companies, consulting firms, healthcare organisations and e-commerce companies. Those with a Hospital Administration or Public Health Management specialisation can work in hospital management and public health organisations, and Disaster Management graduates find roles in government and non-profit agencies. Some students choose to start their own business or to continue to a Ph.D.

To get the best results, a student should take the placement training seriously from the first semester, work on communication and analytical skills, complete a strong summer project and build contacts through the alumni network. The fee structure page explains the cost of the programme, which helps to judge the return on investment.
