Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IIT Jodhpur or IITJ) is one of India's premier public technical universities, established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development as part of the second wave of IITs. Located approximately 20 km north-northeast of Jodhpur on National Highway 62 in Rajasthan, IITJ operates from its 852-acre permanent campus — the first fully planned campus among all technical institutes in India — inaugurated in August 2017. The campus has won the prestigious GRIHA Exemplary Performance Award for its innovative sustainable design, characterised by climate-responsive red sandstone architecture. The B.Tech fee at IIT Jodhpur depends on family income. For students with income above INR 5 lakh, the tuition fee is INR 1,00,000 per semester plus semester fee of INR 27,250 and mess charges of INR 19,000. For income between INR 1–5 lakh, tuition is reduced to INR 33,333 per semester. For income below INR 1 lakh and for all SC/ST/PwD students, tuition is completely waived.
