Scholarships and Financial Support
Education Loan Support
IIM Sirmaur has empanelled leading banks to facilitate education loans at preferential rates of interest. Complete details of these banks, including key loan features and terms, are provided to students along with the admission offer letter. Students may evaluate the options independently and are free to choose any of the empanelled banks based on their financial needs. The institute facilitates access to information, while the final decision regarding the bank and the loan process rests with the student. Planning the loan early is wise, given that the MBA programme fee of Rs. 21,00,000 is payable across six terms.
Fee Support Reported to NIRF
Data submitted by the institute to NIRF shows that, out of 601 students enrolled across the two-year programmes, 111 received full tuition fee reimbursement from the State and Central Government, 2 received full reimbursement from institution funds and 2 from private bodies. A total of 318 students belonged to socially challenged categories and 93 to economically backward groups. These numbers illustrate that a significant proportion of the student body draws on external support alongside family resources and education loans.
PhD Stipend and Research Grants
The doctoral programme provides comprehensive financial support. PhD scholars receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 40,000 for the first two years before the comprehensive qualifying examination and Rs. 45,000 after it. They also receive hostel accommodation or a House Rent Allowance of Rs. 5,000 per month, along with a start-up grant, a contingency grant, a national conference grant and an international conference grant as per institute policy. This allows scholars to focus on research without a heavy financial burden.
Planning Your Finances
Prospective students can compare the full cost of their chosen programme on the fees page. For the MBA, the yearly outflow is Rs. 11,02,500 in the first year and Rs. 9,97,500 in the second year, with a refundable caution money of Rs. 30,000. For the BMS, the yearly cost ranges between Rs. 5,35,000 and Rs. 6,08,000. The PGPEX-LSM programme is available to non-sponsored students for scholarships through the national portal. Families should read the offer letter carefully, note the payment timelines, and keep the loan sanction documents ready before the due dates.
