The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round, but the latest official timeline places choice filling and locking on October 16, not October 17. As of October 17, 2026, that window has closed, and the MCC stray vacancy round is now in the seat processing stage.

MCC NEET UG 2026 Stray Vacancy Round: What Changed

The revision comes through an MCC notice dated October 14, 2026 (reference U-11011/07/2026-MEC). Under the original schedule issued on September 14, registration closed on October 14 and choice filling ended at 10:00 AM on October 15, with the result due on October 17. The revised notice pushed every candidate-facing step to October 16 and moved the result to October 19.

We could not find an MCC notice extending choice filling or locking into October 17. Any such extension is awaiting official confirmation on the MCC website.
