About Malda Medical College and Hospital, Malda
Malda Medical College and Hospital (MMCH), Malda, is a government medical college established in 2011 by the Government of West Bengal to address the healthcare deficit in Malda district and North Bengal. Affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) and recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC), MMCH offers 125 MBBS seats (100 recognised + 25 EWS-permitted) and MD/MS PG in multiple specialities. Located on a 17.3-acre campus at Singatala (Uma Roy Sarani), Malda – 732101, the college has a modern G+7 Academic Block (24,000 sq.m.) with lecture theatres, a 660-seat auditorium, central library, e-library, demonstration rooms, labs, exam hall, and morgue. The teaching hospital includes a new trauma care building, renovated hospital block, and new G+9 OPD building. Hostel fee: ₹2,000/year (one of the lowest in India!). Intern stipend: ₹28,000–₹30,000/month (Edufever). Annual MBBS tuition fee: ₹40,500. PG MD fee: ₹48,000/year. Jio free Wi-Fi on campus.
