KMC Mangalore MBBS degrees are recognized by: GMC (UK — enables UK practice), ECFMG/USA (enables USMLE Step 1/2/3 and US residency), AMC (Australia — enables Australian medical registration), MMC (Malaysia), and various other global bodies. Students from 45+ countries have graduated from KMC. It also holds AAHRPP accreditation — the first Indian institution to do so.
KMC Mangalore is ranked 33rd by NIRF 2024 in the Medical category (30th in 2023, 23rd in 2022). India Today 2025 ranks it 29th. IIRF 2024 ranks it 56th. MAHE (parent university) is ranked 4th among all Indian universities by NIRF 2024.
KMC Mangalore and KMC Manipal are two separate constituent colleges of MAHE, established in 1955 and 1953 respectively, and located 45 minutes (60 km) apart. They share a common NEET-based admission, MAHE as the parent university, a common Chancellor, and a joint graduation ceremony at the TMA Pai Convention Centre in Mangalore. They are however distinct campuses with their own hospitals and academic blocks.
MBBS interns receive ₹30,000 per month during the 1-year compulsory rotatory internship.
