About KanyaKumari Government Medical College
KanyaKumari Government Medical College (KGMC), established in 2003, is the premier government medical institution in the southernmost district of India. Located in Asaripallam, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari district, the college was developed on the campus of the former Government TB Hospital, aligning with MCI/NMC requirements. Affiliated with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, and recognized by the National Medical Commission, KGMC trains approximately 500 MBBS students along with numerous paramedical students. The college campus spans more than 100 acres of serene surroundings, offering a peaceful environment conducive to focused medical studies. KGMC has been ranked in the 101-150 band in NIRF (2024) and 77th in IIRF rankings, making it among the better-ranked government medical colleges in Tamil Nadu.
