About Kanpur Institute of Technology, Kanpur
Kanpur Institute of Technology (KIT), popularly known as KIT Kanpur, is a premier private engineering, pharmacy, and management institution established in 2004 by Indus Technical Education Society (ITES), promoted by a team of visionary and motivated IIT alumni — Shri P.K. Jain, Shri Vipul Jain, Shri Anil Kumar Agarwal, and Mrs. Neena Verma. Located at A-1, UPSIDC Industrial Area, Rooma, on the Kanpur–Prayagraj National Highway, approximately 6 km from Ramadevi roundover, the institute is approved by AICTE, accredited by NAAC with Grade A (3.2), ISO 9001:2015 certified, and affiliated to AKTU, Lucknow (College Code: 165) and BTE, Lucknow (BTE Code: 3394). KIT is an autonomous college from the 2024-25 academic session. The institute runs B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, BFA, BFAD, Polytechnic, and B.Sc programmes. Its sister institution, Kanpur Institute of Technology and Pharmacy (KITP, AKTU Code: 550), offers B.Pharm, M.Pharm, and D.Pharm courses approved by PCI. Another constituent, Kanpur Institute of Higher Education (KIHE, CSJMU Code: KN192), offers BBA, BCA, and B.Sc, affiliated to CSJMU, Kanpur. The sprawling 25-acre lush green campus features state-of-the-art infrastructure including Wi-Fi connectivity, a central library, modern laboratories, air-conditioned classrooms and seminar halls, video lecture rooms, a gymnasium, sports ground, hostel, canteen, mess, medical centre, bank, and a dedicated Placement and Corporate Relations Cell (PCRC). In 2025, the NIRF report records median engineering placement of INR 6 LPA, while over 3,000 placements have been made with 200+ companies.
