GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR) is Andhra Pradesh's first Deemed private medical college, established in 2015 as a constituent college of GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam — a premier private deemed university founded in 1980, NAAC 'A+' accredited, and UGC-MHRD recognised. GIMSR is approved by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is located on GITAM's scenic Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, spread over 29.9 acres on the Bay of Bengal coastline. The institute offers 150 MBBS seats and PG (MD/MS) programmes across 14 specialties with 52 total PG seats. GIMSR hosts dedicated schools for Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Allied and Healthcare programmes.
