Admission to Chanakya University's B.Tech programme follows multiple parallel routes to accommodate students from different entrance-exam backgrounds: candidates may apply using a valid Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) score, a COMED-K score, a JEE Main score, or through the university's Management Quota direct admission route. The university also conducts its own entrance test, the Chanakya University Pravesha Pareeksha (CUPP), for applicants -- including international and NRI students -- who have not appeared for any of the other accepted national or state-level exams.

Admission Process at Chanakya University
For non-engineering undergraduate programmes such as BA, BBA, B.Com, BSc, and BCA, admission is generally merit-based on Class 12 marks, while the five-year integrated BA LLB / BBA LLB (Hons.) programmes accept CLAT scores, CUPP scores, or Management Quota admission. Postgraduate programmes such as MBA and MCA typically require CAT, MAT, CMAT, or CUPP scores combined with a graduation degree meeting the minimum aggregate threshold, followed in some cases by a Personal Interview round.
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificates
- KCET / COMED-K / JEE Main scorecard, where applicable (B.Tech)
- CLAT scorecard, where applicable (Law programmes)
- Graduation mark sheets and degree certificate (for PG applicants)
- Category/caste validity certificate, where applicable
- Passport-size photographs and valid photo identification
International and NRI applicants follow a distinct process that includes a Student Visa (Visa Type 'S'), an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) where required, entrance examinations through CUPP or another university-guided test followed by a personal interview, proof of financial support, mandatory health and term insurance, a prescribed medical checkup, and post-arrival registration with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO); their fees are payable separately in US Dollars to the university's designated international fee account.
Given the differing fee structures across KCET, COMED-K, and Management quotas -- and the fact that Chanakya University also offers fee-financing partnerships through Techfino Capital and Propelld for EMI-based payment -- applicants are advised to review the current fee structure alongside available scholarship and loan-EMI options at the time of applying, since financing arrangements can meaningfully affect the effective annual cost of attendance.
