Four Specialty Centres
All within the East Campus: (1) Cardiothoracic & Neurosciences Centre, (2) Dr. BRA IRCH Cancer Centre, (3) Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, (4) Centre for Dental Education & Research (CDER – NIRF #1 Dental 2024). Each is a national Centre of Excellence.
AIIMS Hospital – 3,000+ Bed Tertiary Care Centre (Expanding to 5,500+)
One of the largest and most prestigious government hospitals in Asia. 3,000+ beds expanding to ~5,500 under redevelopment. 13,000+ daily OPD. 24×7 Emergency and Trauma Centre. OPD appointments: ors.gov.in.
Sports & Gymkhana
Cricket, football, volleyball (floodlit), basketball grounds; badminton, table tennis, gymnasium (indoor). Annual inter-AIIMS tournaments and Foundation Day sports meets.
Hostels (MBBS, PG, PhD, Nursing, Intern)
Separate hostels for all categories: MBBS ₹5,955/year; PG MD/MS ₹17,920/year; PhD ₹720/year. Furnished rooms, 24×7 mess, campus Wi-Fi, laundry. Hostel mandatory for all UG students.
Research Facilities (CRU, IPRTDD, CARE, UMID)
Clinical Research Unit (cru.aiims.edu), IP Rights & Technology Transfer Division (IPRTDD), CARE – Centre for Advanced Research in Neuromodulation (neuromodulationaiims.in), UMID – Unidentified Bodies DNA Database (with ICMR). Active ICMR/DST/DBT/NIH/WHO/Gates Foundation grants.
BB Dixit Central Library (27,000 sq.ft.)
Spans 27,000 sq.ft. with 61,000+ books, 53,000+ journals (physical and digital), and ~14,000 research reports. Provides access to PubMed, Cochrane, UpToDate, Elsevier, and Springer. Open 7 days a week.
