All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh (AIIMS Rishikesh) was established in 2012 under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to reduce regional healthcare disparities and enhance medical education in northern India. An Institute of National Importance (INI) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, AIIMS Rishikesh is located along the scenic foothills of the Himalayas at Virbhadra Road, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand – 249203, on a 200-acre campus. AIIMS Rishikesh is ranked 13th in NIRF Medical 2025 (score 65.02, up 2 spots from 15th in 2024) and 78th overall in NIRF 2025. NABL accredited. The 960-bed multi-super specialty tertiary care hospital operates 24x7 with 25 specialties, 15 advanced surgical OTs, ICUs, trauma care, and world-class diagnostic services. 45 academic departments, including core clinical, surgical, and super-specialty branches (Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, etc.). 125 MBBS seats (85 AIQ + 15 institutional + 5% Uttarakhand domicile); PG via INI-CET; SS via NEET SS/INI SS. MBBS total fees: ₹2,380–₹1,40,000. MBBS hostel: ₹2,228/year (NIRF data). 500-seat simulation lab. Central library: 50,000+ volumes.
