Registration for the last MCC round closes at 3:00 PM on 14 October 2026 (server time), and the seat list is already out. MCC has published the clear vacancy list for the NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round, and it covers MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing seats. If you missed a seat in Rounds 1 to 3, or never got one, this is your final All India chance for 2026. Here is what the official MCC clear vacancy PDF confirms, what is still unclear, and what to do before the window shuts.

What the official MCC list confirms

The PDF is titled "Clear Vacancy Stray Vacancy Round (MBBS BDS B.Sc Nursing) - UG Counselling 2026" and runs to 64 pages. The pages reviewed for this article (1 to 31) settle the following:

  • Courses covered: MBBS, BDS and B.Sc Nursing. All three appear in the seat rows, not just the title.
  • Round: the online stray vacancy round, which MCC counts as Round 4 for All India Quota, Deemed and Central Universities, AIIMS, ESIC and B.Sc Nursing seats.
  • Seat types: All India Quota, AIIMS open seats, Central University and IP University quotas, ESI quota, and Deemed University seats (self-financed merit, NRI, minority).
  • Release: the file sits in MCC's October 2026 uploads and its file name carries a 14 October stamp.

What is still pending or unconfirmed

  • Total seat count: the pages reviewed do not give an overall figure or a course-wise split. Check the last pages of the PDF before quoting any number.
  • Pages 32 to 64: these could not be read for this article, so seats from Maharashtra onward are only partly covered here.
  • Listing on MCC's website: MCC's Current Events UG page had not yet shown this file when last checked on 13 October.
  • Stray round closing ranks: none are published. They appear only after the result on 17 October.
  • Schedule changes: none announced. MCC's bulletin says joining dates cannot be extended.

How to read the vacancy list

Each row gives one institute, one quota and one category. OP means open (general), BC is OBC, EW is EWS, and SC and ST are as usual. NO and PH appear to separate regular seats from PwD seats. Government colleges mostly show thin numbers, often one to five seats per category. Bihar's Vardhman Institute of Medical Sciences, Nalanda, lists six open MBBS seats, which is among the larger government blocks in the pages reviewed.

Deemed universities hold the big chunks, all self-financed merit seats. Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences (Bengaluru) shows 34 MBBS seats, SBKS Vadodara 30, Chettinad (Kolar) 29 and GITAM Visakhapatnam 20. B.Sc Nursing seats sit mostly in Delhi's central nursing colleges and ESIC nursing colleges in Karnataka. Dr. RML College of Nursing, for example, lists eight BC seats.

Who can take part

The rules below come from MCC's UG counselling 2026 information bulletin. Any candidate who qualified NEET UG can apply for All India Quota, Deemed, Central University, AIIMS, ESIC and B.Sc Nursing seats, subject to quota-specific rules, because these seats are domicile free. Registration and choice filling are fresh for this round, so nothing from Rounds 1 to 3 carries over.

  • Eligible: candidates who register for the stray round, including those registered earlier who got no seat.
  • Not eligible: anyone who has not registered for this round, anyone joined or holding a seat, and anyone allotted a Round 3 seat who did not report.
  • Data check: if your name appears in an allotted list from the Centre or a state after Round 3, you are removed from the All India stray round.

Registration fees for the stray round

  • AIQ, Central Universities, AIIMS, ESIC, B.Sc Nursing (UR/EWS): Rs. 1,000 registration plus Rs. 10,000 refundable security, Rs. 11,000 in total.
  • Same seats (SC, ST, OBC, PwD): Rs. 500 plus Rs. 5,000 security, Rs. 5,500 in total.
  • Deemed Universities (all categories): Rs. 5,000 plus Rs. 2,00,000 security, Rs. 2,05,000 in total. Candidates applying to both pay only this higher amount.

Category-wise cutoff: NEET UG 2026 qualifying marks

Qualifying marks are the minimum needed to join counselling. They are not closing ranks for any seat. The figures below were reported by Careers360 from NTA's Re-NEET UG 2026 result data.

OBC / SC / ST40th212 - 177
OBC / SC - PwBD40th193 - 177

MCC applies the central reservation policy to All India Quota seats: SC 15%, ST 7.5%, OBC-NCL 27%, EWS 10% and 5% horizontal for PwD. MCC says Deemed Universities have no OBC, SC, ST, PwD or EWS reservation, though some have Jain or Muslim minority seats.

What candidates should do next

  1. Download the official stray round clear vacancy PDF and filter by your course, state and category.
  2. Read each college's fee, bond and stipend details on MCC's college information page. MCC takes no responsibility for these and will not entertain complaints later.
  3. If you have not registered, register and pay before the deadlines on 14 October.
  4. Fill choices only for seats you would actually join, then lock them before 10:00 AM on 15 October. Locked choices cannot be changed, even by MCC.
  5. Check the result on 17 October and download the allotment letter.
  6. Report between 19 and 26 October with original documents. A seat allotted in this round must be joined, or the security deposit is forfeited and you lose eligibility for further rounds.

One caution: a seat is often vacant for a reason, usually fees, bond terms or location. Check those before you rank it.
