The original exam, held on May 3, 2026, was cancelled by the National Testing Agency on May 12 following reports of a paper leak, and a fresh Re-NEET exam was conducted on June 21, 2026, with results declared on July 16, 2026. That delay pushed back both the MCC's central counselling calendar and state-level processes such as Maharashtra's CAP rounds, requiring authorities to repeatedly revise their published schedules through August and September.

Maharashtra's CAP Round 1 itself went through its own revisions before concluding: the final merit list and Round 1 seat matrix were published on August 25, 2026, choice filling ran from August 26 to August 29, and the Round 1 selection list was declared on August 30, 2026, with reporting to allotted colleges open till September 4, 2026. Choice Filling and Reporting Requirements
