Revised Seat Matrix for MBBS Admission at Dr. Somervel Memorial CSI Medical College, Karakonam for Academic Year 2026–27
The Government of Kerala, through the Health & Family Welfare Department, has issued G.O.(Ms) No. 265/2026/H&FWD dated September 9, 2026, approving the revised seat matrix for admission to the MBBS course at Dr. Somervel Memorial CSI Medical College, Karakonam, Thiruvananthapuram, for the academic year 2026–27.
According to the revised seat matrix, the college has a total of 200 MBBS seats. The approved distribution includes 100 Community seats, 6 NRI seats, 24 All India Quota (AIQ) seats irrespective of domicile, 30 Government seats as per reservation norms, and 40 Open Community seats.
The Government order states that the Community seats can constitute up to a maximum of 50% of the total seats, while NRI seats can constitute up to 15%. The AIQ component comprises 15% of the total seats and is open irrespective of domicile.
The order modifies the earlier Government Order G.O.(Ms) No. 224/2026/H&FWD dated August 10, 2026, to the extent of the revised seat matrix. Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Director of Medical Education, Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala University of Health Sciences, Admission Supervisory Committee, and the concerned medical college.
