Eligibility: Postgraduate degree or equivalent in Engineering & Technology / Management / Economics / Social Science / Biological Science / Pure Science / Commerce / Humanities with a minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale or 60% marks (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NC/Differently Abled candidates); professional qualifications of C.A., ICWA or C.S. with 50% aggregate marks are also considered. Selection is based on academic qualifications, the tentative research proposal (an approx. 5,000-word abstract submitted with the application), a presentation before the Selection Committee, and a Personal Interview.

Note: Per the official FPM programme page's 'Fee Structure': the annual programme fee for the current academic year is Rs 1,00,000 (payable as a single payment or in two instalments), plus one-time charges payable at admission of Rs 2,000 (Admission Charges), Rs 25,000 (Educational Resources Access Fee) and a refundable Rs 10,000 Caution Deposit - bringing the effective first-year outlay to approximately Rs 1,37,000, with Rs 1,00,000/year in subsequent years. Candidates with relevant academic/professional experience may apply for a Tutorship/Assistantship carrying a monthly stipend of Rs 15,000; full-time scholars who have completed coursework are eligible for financial support of Rs 20,000 per month for up to two years or until thesis submission, whichever is earlier. Hostel facilities are provided to FPM scholars subject to availability.
